Flight Planning Features

AutoRoute Valid IFR Flight Plans

Save time and money

Take back control over flying in Europe. For flying IFR, AutoRoute can save hours in flight planning from first principles and avoid the dreaded route-amend-accept from Eurocontrol. Simply enter ADEP, ADES, Preferred Flight Level, Min/Max Flight Levels together with your Aircraft Performance Profile, click AutoRoute.

How it works

AutoRoute has a sophisticated routing engine built for the airways. Based on the inputs, it performs a series of calculations to generate a route. It then validates the route with Eurocontrol and adjusts the route for corrected responses. Preparing a route typically takes between 5-25 seconds to complete. AutoRoute cannot guarantee a route every time due to the complexity of the European airspace, however, we are achieving over 95% routing success rates.

Test AutoRoute now

Click the button below and enter an ADEP/ADES in Europe. This uses a fixed flight level and aircraft profile. If you like the result, why not join today.

Comes with Approach Plates

Using Eurocontrol National AIS Plates

RocketRoute includes within its service airport Approach Plates for all airports covered by Eurocontrol and ICAO airport. These documents are sent with the briefing pack after filing the flight plan or can be downloaded individually as required.

Manage Your Flight Plan

Delay Cancel Landed

Once you have a filed your flight plan with RocketRoute it is treated as active in the system. Our operations team monitor the plan from T-2 through to landing. From your mobile or from the web you have complete control. You can Cancel or Delay your flight plan any point up to 15 mins after off-block time. Once airborne the Landed button becomes available. This lets you close and flight plan should ATC be unavailable or you land at a ZZZZ airfield.

Smart Addressing Saves Time

FIRS/ATC

Filing a VFR plan can become a time consuming task when you are not sure of the unique AFTN addresses and FIRs (and sub addresses) that need to be notified of the flight plan. At RocketRoute we taken out the guess work. Our own database for flight plans and addresses means we automatically complete the address fields for pilots - making the task quick, ease and straight forward.

IFR-VFR / VFR-IFR

If you fly VFR for part of your flight, RocketRoute will take care of the airfield addressing for you using the same databases and systems used for VFR flight planning.

Comprehensive Flight Log

Our flight log provides all the NavAid waypoints as well as intermediate waypoints enroute. This is available as a PDF report which means you can easily print off and enter actuals as you fly.

File Flight Plan In Seconds

File IFR and VFR

When you file with RocketRoute you receive a positive confirmation and copies of your flight plan pack by email. For IFR plans we also send your Eurocontrol Flight Plan ID by email.

How it works

RocketRoute connects directly to the aviation industry's global AFTN messaging network. Flight Plans are sent in real-time to Eurocontrol and a positive ACK (Acknowledged), REJ (Rejected) or MAN (Manual) response is provided by return. For VFR plans these are not sent to Eurocontrol, instead they are sent directly to the relevant FIRs and ATCs. A positive confirmation is not received for each message by the ATC or FIR, however, RocketRoute records the message transaction and provides the user with positive confirmation.
